Bloodmoon shots

The moon: our natural satellite. Beautiful to observe. In 2015 a friend of mine and I went out in the early morning to capture the blood moon. The light from the sun is blocked by the earth, thereby casting its shadow on the moon. During this process the moon shows amazing colors and brightness patterns. After the eclipse, we see the “blood moon”: shadow is slipping away on the right. A substantial part of the light illuminating the sun travels through earth’s atmosphere, giving the light an orange color (which is actually the colorimetric opposite of the regular blue color of our sky during the day).
